Part of an exceptionally limited collection from a newly discovered South African seam, this substantial specimen is unlike anything in a traditional Lemurian range. Rather than a single elongated point, multiple Quartz formations have grown together here, creating something wonderfully sculptural and deeply tactile. With deep Smokey colouring, pronounced Lemurian striations, glyph-like markings and beautiful secondary crystal growth, this is a remarkable collector's piece and a particularly meaningful crystal for meditation and intentional spiritual practice, traditionally associated with grounding, ancient wisdom and spiritual transformation.

Why I Chose This Crystal

Of all the South African Smokey Lemurians I was fortunate enough to secure, I think this might be my favourite.

There's something about its formation that feels quietly powerful. Rather than one long defined point, several substantial crystals appear to have grown together over time, creating this wonderfully chunky, almost sculptural piece. I love the symbolism held in that, individual formations coming together into something greater than any one of them alone.

It's also one of the most tactile crystals I've held in a long time. It sits beautifully in the hands, weighted and present, and I can easily imagine returning to it again and again during meditation.

And then there's the way the light moves through it. Wherever you turn it, different faces catch and shift, revealing another detail, another little sparkle you hadn't noticed before.

I was only able to secure a small number from this discovery and I genuinely don't know if I'll find them again. Each one feels quite precious because of that.

WHAT IS SOUTH AFRICAN SMOKEY LEMURIAN QUARTZ?

Lemurian Quartz is traditionally associated with distinctive Quartz crystals from Brazil, particularly those displaying horizontal growth striations.

Within Lemurian spiritual traditions, these markings are sometimes described as records or codes of ancient wisdom, symbolising spiritual knowledge and connection to higher consciousness.

Quartz with similar growth characteristics is also found in other parts of the world, including this newly discovered South African material.

These specimens are particularly fascinating for their natural Smokey colouring, complex growth patterns and unusual secondary crystal formations.
