Why I Chose This Crystal

Selenite is one of my absolute essentials and it's the crystal I use most for cleansing my own crystals and jewellery. I love these simple polished slabs because they're incredibly practical. There's no complicated ritual needed. You can just take your jewellery off at the end of the day, place it on the Selenite and pick it up again when you're ready to wear it.

I also really like that this one doesn't have any symbols or etching. Sometimes you just want a beautiful, simple piece of Selenite that can become the base for whatever you're working with.

It's a lovely size too. At around 12cm, there's plenty of room for several bracelets, crystals or pieces of jewellery and you can completely change how you work with it depending on what you need.

What is a Selenite charging slab used for?

Selenite is one of the crystals most commonly used for energetically cleansing other crystals and crystal jewellery. Within crystal traditions it is considered self-cleansing, making it a particularly easy crystal to incorporate into everyday life.

Place crystals, bracelets, pendants or other jewellery directly onto the slab and leave them there when they're not being used. Many people choose to do this overnight so their crystals are ready to wear or work with again the following morning.

These slabs are polished from natural Moroccan Selenite and have the beautiful luminous quality that makes this crystal so distinctive.

Selenite has a naturally fibrous structure, creating silky bands of light that move across its surface depending on the angle from which you view it. Rather than being completely uniform, each piece will have its own natural fibres, translucency and markings.

I particularly like the simplicity of these. There is nothing etched or carved onto the surface, so the natural Selenite itself is the focus and you have a completely blank foundation for your own crystals, intentions and rituals.

How to Work With This Crystal

For everyday crystal cleansing, simply place your crystals and jewellery onto your Selenite slab when you're finished using them. This works particularly well with crystal jewellery because you can make it part of your evening routine and leave everything there overnight.

You can also use the slab to create a simple intention grid. Choose several crystals connected with what you're currently working towards and arrange them across the surface. You might sit with them during meditation or journalling or simply leave the arrangement somewhere meaningful to you.

Selenite should always be kept dry. It is an exceptionally soft mineral and prolonged exposure to water can damage its surface and structure.

Because these slabs are cut and polished from natural Selenite, there may be slight variations in dimensions, shape, fibres, translucency and surface markings.

Selenite is exceptionally soft and can be scratched with a fingernail. Small surface marks, fine scratches, natural fibres and occasional areas of flaking can occur even with careful handling. These are characteristics of the mineral rather than necessarily being damage.

Please keep your Selenite dry and handle it with care.
