Why I Chose This Crystal

Selenite is one of my absolute essentials and probably the crystal I use most when it comes to cleansing. I have it throughout my home and use it regularly with my own crystals and jewellery.

I really like these wands because they're so simple. There isn't anything decorative or complicated about them. They're just a really practical piece of Selenite that you can pick up and actually use, whether that's moving it around your space, holding it during meditation or keeping it alongside your other crystals.

What is a Selenite wand used for?

Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum and is recognised by its distinctive pale, luminous appearance. The fibrous white material commonly sold within the crystal trade as Selenite is more specifically known mineralogically as Satin Spar, which is also a variety of gypsum.

Within crystal healing traditions, Selenite is associated with energetic cleansing, clarity and purification. A wand shape makes it particularly practical for directing your attention during meditation, cleansing practices and energy work.

I love the simplicity of these. Each wand has that beautiful silky, luminous appearance associated with Selenite, with natural fibres and lines running along its length.

Because they're individually cut from natural material, the thickness, weight, translucency and surface texture vary slightly between pieces. Some are slimmer and lighter while others are noticeably chunkier.

How to Work With This Crystal

Hold your Selenite Wand and slowly move it through the space you want to cleanse, whether that's around yourself, another crystal or an area of your home.

You don't need an elaborate ritual. Simply decide what you want to release or reset and use the movement of the wand as a physical focus for that intention.

Selenite is very soft and should be kept dry. Avoid immersing it in water and expect some natural fibres, small surface marks or minor flaking as part of the nature of the material.
