Selenite is one of my absolute essentials and it's the crystal I use most for cleansing crystals and jewellery. It's incredibly easy to work with. You can simply place your crystals on the plate when you're not using them and leave Selenite to do what it does best.

I particularly love this design because the seven chakra symbols make it useful for so much more than crystal cleansing. You can incorporate it into meditation, Reiki, chakra work or intention setting and use the individual symbols as a focus depending on what you're working with.

What is a Selenite charging plate used for?

Selenite is one of the crystals most commonly used for energetically cleansing other crystals and crystal jewellery. It is traditionally believed to clear stagnant or unwanted energy and is considered self-cleansing, which makes it particularly practical for regular crystal care.

Natural Selenite has a distinctive luminous quality created by its fibrous structure. As the light moves across the plate you'll see subtle changes in its translucency, fibres and silky white appearance.

Each plate is individually cut and etched so slight variations in the natural Selenite and positioning of the design are completely normal.

How to Work With This Crystal

For everyday crystal cleansing, simply place your crystals and jewellery onto the plate when you're finished using them. I particularly love doing this with crystal jewellery because you can take your bracelets or pendants off at the end of the day, leave them on the Selenite overnight and pick them up again the following morning.

For chakra work, choose a crystal that corresponds with the chakra you'd like to focus on and place it over the appropriate symbol. You can use this alongside meditation, journalling, Reiki or intention setting.

You can also build a complete chakra grid by choosing seven crystals and placing one over each symbol.

Selenite should always be kept dry. It is an extremely soft mineral and prolonged exposure to water can damage its surface and structure.

Selenite is exceptionally soft and can be scratched with a fingernail. Small surface marks, fine scratches, natural fibres and occasional areas of flaking can occur even with careful handling. These are characteristics of the mineral rather than necessarily being damage.

Please keep your Selenite dry and handle it with care.
