Why I Chose This Crystal

The colours in this piece are just beautiful. They are much softer and dreamier than you often see in Polychrome Jasper, with muted lilac, cream, blue-grey and warm ochre flowing into one another and those lovely little dark speckled markings scattered across the surface.

It feels incredibly peaceful to me. Polychrome Jasper is such a grounding crystal but this particular piece doesn't feel fiery or strongly energising. It has a much gentler quality, almost like being reminded that we don't always have to push through change. Sometimes feeling safe, settled and grounded is enough.

Polychrome Jasper is a variety of Jasper found primarily in Madagascar and is known for its flowing patterns and beautiful variations in natural colour. Individual pieces can contain red, pink, orange, yellow, cream, brown, grey, blue-grey and green, meaning no two pieces ever look quite the same.

Within crystal healing traditions, Polychrome Jasper is particularly associated with grounding, stability, resilience and connection with the Earth. It is often worked with during periods of transition because its energy is considered stabilising while still encouraging us to accept the natural movement and change within life.

This is such an unusually soft Polychrome Jasper. Dreamy lilac and blue-grey move through creamy white and muted ochre, with beautiful little dark speckles scattered across parts of the surface. The colours blend into one another rather than feeling strongly defined, giving the whole piece a wonderfully gentle appearance.

For me, that really changes how this particular piece feels. It still has the grounding, stabilising quality I associate with Polychrome Jasper but there is a softness to it too.

Combined with the symbolism of the egg, it feels particularly connected with those quieter periods of transition where something new may be forming but isn't quite ready to emerge yet. There is no need to rush it. We can stay grounded, give ourselves space and allow things to unfold in their own time.
