These incredible natural Amethyst and Smokey Quartz Points from Brazil are unlike anything I've previously had at Moon & Earth. Amethyst and Smokey Quartz is already one of our most-loved crystal combinations, but until now I've offered it in polished pieces. These allow you to see Amethyst and Smokey Quartz as they have grown together naturally, with incredible variations from purple Amethyst through to earthy, translucent Smokey Quartz alongside extraordinary natural growth formations.

Many reveal visible phantoms, colour zoning and stepped or skeletal growth patterns, with some displaying an almost Elestial quality. Their natural terminations, growth markings, inclusions and raw surfaces remain part of the crystal rather than being polished into a uniform shape. Every piece is completely individual and particular formations will vary.

Why I Chose This Crystal

I've never come across natural Amethyst and Smokey Quartz formations quite like these before and I find them absolutely fascinating. We've had this combination in our Amazez hearts and palm stones and they are always incredibly popular, but seeing Amethyst and Smokey Quartz together in their natural form feels very different.

Energetically, I think it's one of the most beautifully balanced combinations. Amethyst encourages us to look upwards and inwards, connecting with intuition, spiritual awareness and a quieter mind while Smokey Quartz grounds that energy and brings us firmly back into the body and the present moment. For me, they're a reminder that spiritual growth doesn't have to mean escaping ordinary life. We can expand, change and trust our intuition while still keeping our feet firmly on the ground.

I especially love the phantoms and growth formations within these. A phantom preserves an earlier stage in the crystal's growth before it continued forming around it. I think there's something incredibly powerful in that as a reminder of our own lives. We don't erase the versions of ourselves we've already been as we grow. They become part of what we're becoming.

What is an Amethyst and Smokey Quartz Phantom?

Amethyst and Smokey Quartz are both varieties of Quartz and can occur together within the same natural crystal formation. The result can be beautiful natural zoning from purple Amethyst through to smoky brown and grey tones, with the balance and depth of colour differing from crystal to crystal.

A phantom forms when changes during the crystal's growth preserve the outline of an earlier stage inside later growth. This can create extraordinary ghost-like layers, points and colour zones within the crystal.

Some of these Brazilian pieces also show stepped or skeletal growth characteristics, giving them an almost Elestial appearance. These are natural growth features rather than carving or decoration and their presence and appearance vary considerably between individual crystals.
