Why I Chose This Crystal

This is such a beautiful example of Malacholla. The colour immediately caught my attention, but what makes this particular piece really special for me is how clearly you can see both minerals within it. There are incredible rounded areas of vivid turquoise-blue Chrysocolla alongside unmistakable Malachite eyes, swirls and deeper green patterning.

I also love what those two minerals bring together energetically. Malachite has that powerful transformational quality, helping us recognise what needs to change, while Chrysocolla feels much softer around communication, emotional understanding and finding our voice. Together, they feel particularly supportive when something needs to shift but we want to move through that change consciously and remain connected to what we genuinely feel.

What is Malacholla?

Malacholla is a naturally occurring combination of Malachite and Chrysocolla, two copper minerals which can occur together within copper-rich deposits. Its distinctive colouring can range through turquoise, blue and green depending on the balance and formation of the different minerals.

Within crystal healing traditions, Malacholla brings together the transformational properties associated with Malachite and the communication, wisdom and emotional expression traditionally associated with Chrysocolla.

This creates a particularly beautiful connection between the Heart and Throat Chakras. Rather than simply encouraging us to speak, Malacholla is associated with understanding what is happening within the heart first and then finding the confidence and clarity to express it.

The natural patterning in this particular piece is incredible. Across the polished surface are rounded areas of intense turquoise-blue Chrysocolla interspersed with deeper green Malachite, including some beautiful concentric eyes and unmistakable Malachite swirls. The polish really brings those different formations to life and the custom stand allows the whole piece to be appreciated as a mineral specimen.

Energetically, I find Malacholla particularly interesting because it connects transformation with communication. Sometimes we know something isn't right long before we're ready to put it into words. Malachite encourages us to look at what needs to change while Chrysocolla brings that softer energy of finding our voice and expressing what is true for us.

For me, this is a beautiful crystal for boundaries, relationships and those points in life when being honest with ourselves becomes part of creating change.
