This Malacholla Polished Freeform from the Democratic Republic of the Congo combines the beautiful blue-green copper minerals Malachite and Chrysocolla. Why I Chose This Crystal

I absolutely love the formation and colour in this piece. It has these incredible rounded areas of vivid turquoise-blue and green running across the surface, with the natural matrix still visible beneath the polish. There is so much going on within it and the custom stand really allows you to see and appreciate the formation rather than simply viewing it as a polished stone.

Energetically, I also love the combination of Malachite and Chrysocolla. Malachite has that powerful transformational quality, bringing things to the surface and asking us to look at what needs to change while Chrysocolla feels softer and more supportive around communication and emotional expression. Together, they feel particularly relevant when you know something needs to shift but want to move through it consciously rather than simply pushing forwards.

What is Malacholla?

Malacholla is a naturally occurring combination of Malachite and Chrysocolla, two copper minerals which can form alongside one another in copper-rich deposits. Its distinctive blue-green colouring comes from the presence of these different copper minerals and individual specimens can vary considerably in their balance of blue, turquoise and green.

Within crystal healing traditions, Malacholla is worked with for both the transformational properties associated with Malachite and the communication, wisdom and emotional expression traditionally associated with Chrysocolla.

This creates a particularly beautiful connection between the Heart and Throat Chakras. Rather than simply encouraging us to speak, Malacholla is associated with first understanding what is happening within the heart and then finding the confidence and clarity to give those feelings a voice.

This is a really special piece of Malacholla. The polished surface reveals the most beautiful rounded blue-green formations with areas of deeper green and natural matrix running through the crystal. The colours move from vivid turquoise and blue into richer Malachite greens and the different mineral formations remain wonderfully visible beneath the polish.

For me, its energy is very much about the relationship between the heart and the voice. Sometimes the difficult part isn't knowing that something needs to change. It's understanding what we're actually feeling beneath it and then being able to communicate that honestly.

Malachite brings that willingness to look at what needs to shift while Chrysocolla brings a gentler energy around expression. I think that's what makes Malacholla such an interesting crystal to work with when navigating boundaries, relationships and periods of emotional change.
