Polished Libyan Desert Glass for transformation, manifestation, confidence and personal power
This glass jar contains a collection of polished Libyan Desert Glass pieces, an extraordinary natural silica-rich glass found within the Great Sand Sea of the Sahara Desert. Formed around 29 million years ago during an extreme natural impact event, Libyan Desert Glass is traditionally associated with transformation, manifestation, confidence and personal power. This little collection is a beautiful and accessible way to work with this fascinating material, with the polished pieces revealing its characteristic pale yellow, honey and translucent golden tones.
Why I Chose This Crystal
I love Libyan Desert Glass and these little jars are such a lovely way to have a collection of it. Each one contains several polished pieces in slightly different golden and honey tones, so you get to see some of the natural variation within this extraordinary material.
I also love the story of how Libyan Desert Glass was formed. Knowing you're holding something created by an extraordinary event around 29 million years ago makes it feel incredibly special.
What is Libyan Desert Glass?
Libyan Desert Glass is a rare natural silica-rich glass found across a remote area of the Great Sand Sea spanning western Egypt and eastern Libya. It formed around 29 million years ago when an extraordinarily high-temperature event melted silica-rich material at the Earth's surface.
Scientific evidence strongly links its formation to a meteorite impact event, although the precise circumstances surrounding its creation have been the subject of research for many years. The resulting natural glass ranges from almost clear and pale yellow through honey and deeper golden tones.
Its extraordinary origin, immense age and limited geographical occurrence have made Libyan Desert Glass highly sought after by mineral collectors as well as those who work with crystals energetically.

Sacral Chakra, Orange
Spiritual & Metaphysical Benefits
Libyan Desert Glass is traditionally associated with transformation, manifestation and spiritual growth.
Because of the extraordinary conditions involved in its creation, it is often regarded energetically as a stone of profound change, helping us recognise our own capacity to transform circumstances and move beyond limitations.
It is also frequently worked with alongside Moldavite and other impact-related stones, although its energy is often described as more grounding and Solar Plexus-centred.
Mental & Emotional Healing
Libyan Desert Glass is traditionally associated with confidence, courage, self-belief and personal power.
It can be particularly interesting to work with when you notice yourself making decisions from fear or continually questioning whether you are capable of doing something.
Rather than waiting until all uncertainty disappears, its energy can be used as a reminder that confidence is often something we develop through taking the next step.
Physical Benefits
Within traditional crystal healing, Libyan Desert Glass has been associated with vitality, stamina and supporting natural energy levels.
These are traditional crystal healing associations rather than medical claims and crystal healing should never replace appropriate professional healthcare.
Ways to Work With This Crystal
Keep the jar on an altar, crystal shelf or somewhere connected with your intention-setting practice.
If you choose to remove one of the polished pieces, you can hold it during meditation, manifestation or intention setting, particularly when working with confidence, self-belief or creating change.
Individual pieces can also be incorporated into a crystal grid or worked with alongside other crystals associated with manifestation and transformation.

Energetic Properties
This little cork-topped glass jar contains a collection of polished Libyan Desert Glass pieces.
The pieces vary naturally in size, shape, transparency and colour, moving through pale champagne, soft yellow, honey and translucent golden tones. Polishing gives them a smooth finish while still allowing the natural variations within the Libyan Desert Glass to be seen.
I haven't removed the individual pieces to count or measure them as they sit neatly within the jar and I don't want to disturb them unnecessarily. The photographs show the exact jar and collection you will receive.
How to Work With This Crystal
Libyan Desert Glass is particularly suited to intention setting and manifestation work because of its traditional connection with the Solar Plexus Chakra and personal power.
You might hold one of the polished pieces while considering something you would like to create or change. Rather than focusing only on the outcome, ask yourself what action you can take towards it and whether fear or self-doubt is currently preventing you from taking that step.
You can then return the piece to its jar or keep it with you while actively working towards your intention.
If you already work with Moldavite, you may also enjoy exploring the two together. Moldavite is traditionally associated with rapid transformation and spiritual evolution while Libyan Desert Glass brings in themes of confidence, personal power and consciously creating change.
