Why I Chose This Crystal

I love Labradorite. It was actually the first crystal I ever bought for the shop and I've had a bit of an obsession with it ever since. I work with it personally, I wear it and I have it around my home. That incredible flash of colour appearing from such a dark stone never stops being beautiful to me.

I'm also really proud of the Labradorite we stock. We source ours through people we have known and worked with for years, who work directly in Madagascar and make sure the people involved are paid fairly. It costs more to source Labradorite this way, but the quality is exceptional and knowing the people behind these crystals are being treated properly really matters to me.

What I particularly loved about this piece was the colour. The flash has this incredible teal-turquoise quality that almost seems to glow from within the Labradorite, shifting into softer greens and golds as you turn it. There's flash on the reverse too, but it's that luminous front face that made me choose it.

This is a beautiful polished Madagascan Labradorite freeform with an unusually luminous colour palette.

Across the main face, the labradorescence appears in broad areas of glowing teal, turquoise and green-blue, with softer golden tones emerging as the angle of the light changes. Fine natural lines running through the stone become visible beneath the flash, giving the surface wonderful depth and character.

There is also flash on the reverse, allowing the piece to reveal different colours and patterns as it is picked up and turned.

At 67mm tall, it is a lovely size for displaying while still being small enough to hold comfortably during meditation or energy work.
