Golden Septarian, also known as Dragon Stone, is a beautifully grounding crystal recognised by its distinctive golden yellow, warm brown and earthy grey patterning. These substantial polished flames have been hand carved in Madagascar and are traditionally associated with stability, confidence and feeling more grounded within yourself. They can be particularly supportive during periods of change or when life feels unsettled and you need to reconnect with your own strength.

Why I Chose This Crystal

I love the earthy energy of Septarian. There is something very steadying about it and I think it is a particularly lovely crystal for those times when you need to feel stronger, more grounded and a little more confident in yourself. I also love that no two pieces ever look quite the same. The natural golden Calcite, brown Aragonite and darker matrix create incredible patterns through each flame and these larger pieces have a really beautiful presence.

What is Golden Septarian used for?

Septarian is traditionally worked with for grounding, confidence, communication and emotional stability. Its distinctive appearance comes from ancient concretions that developed cracks which were later filled by minerals, creating the characteristic patterns we see within the stone today. Madagascan Septarian commonly contains golden Calcite alongside brown Aragonite and a limestone-rich matrix. It is sometimes known as Dragon Stone because its intricate natural markings can resemble scales or cracked dragon skin.

Ethically sourced from Madagascar through our long-standing Madagascan supplier who has worked directly with miners, workshops and local communities for more than 30 years. This gives us much greater visibility over where our crystals come from and the people involved in producing them. Much of the crystal work within the communities we source from is carried out by hand because sophisticated machinery is not readily available and these beautiful flames have been hand carved and polished in Madagascar.
