This completely one-of-a-kind Labradorite necklace has been individually handcrafted in copper using the electroforming process. The stone has an incredible predominantly pink and purple flash that seems to roll across its surface as it moves through the light, with flashes of blue, gold and orange appearing towards the edge and continuing around onto the back. Handmade by an independent UK artisan, this is an intentionally organic and rustic piece of jewellery where the individuality of both the crystal and the copperwork is part of its beauty.

Why I Chose This Crystal

The colour in this Labradorite is just stunning. As you move it, this beautiful pink and purple flash seems to roll across the front of the stone, then blue, gold and orange appear towards the edge and wrap around onto the back.

I particularly love Labradorite when it shows these less common colours. Combined with its traditional associations with intuition, protection and transformation, this feels like such a special piece for those times when you're changing, growing or learning to trust yourself more deeply.

This is a particularly beautiful and unusual piece of Labradorite. Across the front, the flash is predominantly pink and purple, appearing to move across the stone as the angle changes. Towards one edge, flashes of blue, gold and orange emerge and continue around onto the back, where another beautiful area of colour can be seen.

Labradorite is incredibly responsive to light and its full colour can be difficult to capture in still photography. This piece really comes alive as it moves, revealing different colours from different angles.

The copper has been electroformed directly around the crystal, leaving much of the Labradorite visible and allowing its natural character and flash to remain the focus.

THE ART OF ELECTROFORMED JEWELLERY

Electroformed jewellery is intentionally different from traditionally polished fine jewellery.

Each piece is individually created through a process in which copper is gradually formed around the crystal. The resulting surface can be wonderfully organic and rustic, with natural variations in texture, shape, colour and finish.

These characteristics are part of the piece rather than imperfections. No two settings form in precisely the same way, meaning the finished necklace is genuinely individual.

If you prefer perfectly smooth, symmetrical and highly polished jewellery, this style may not be for you. If you love jewellery that feels earthy, handcrafted and completely unique, that individuality is part of what makes these pieces so special.

Copper will also naturally change and develop a patina with time. Areas of deeper colour or green can appear as the copper reacts naturally with air, moisture and its surroundings. This is a normal characteristic of copper and part of the evolving character of the piece.
