This Cobaltoan Calcite Bracelet is made from rare cobalt-bearing Calcite from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, prized for the beautiful pink, mauve and purple colouring created by cobalt within the mineral. Each bracelet has wonderful natural variation, with pinks sitting alongside earthy grey, green, cream and darker mineral markings. Traditionally associated with the Heart Chakra, Cobaltoan Calcite is worked with for self-love, compassion and emotional healing and can be particularly supportive during periods of grief, change or emotional vulnerability.

Why I Chose This Crystal

I was really excited to find these because Cobaltoan Calcite isn't something I come across very often, particularly in bracelet form.

I love that they haven't been made to look perfectly uniform either. You have beautiful pink and mauve beads alongside much darker, earthier colours and every bracelet looks slightly different. You can really see the character of the natural mineral running through them.

Energetically, this is such a lovely crystal for the heart, particularly beautiful for those times when you've been through something difficult and need a little more compassion for yourself, rather than feeling as though you should simply pick yourself up and carry on.

What is Cobaltoan Calcite?

Cobaltoan Calcite is a rare cobalt-bearing variety of Calcite, best known for its distinctive pink to purple colouring. Cobalt substitutes for some of the calcium within the Calcite crystal structure, creating the beautiful colours that make this material so recognisable.

Some particularly sought-after Cobaltoan Calcite comes from the copper and cobalt-rich mineral deposits of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it can occur alongside other secondary minerals. Natural material can vary considerably in colour and appearance, rather than being uniformly bright pink.

Within crystal healing traditions, Cobaltoan Calcite has become particularly associated with the Heart Chakra, emotional healing, compassion and self-love.

These bracelets really show why I was drawn to this particular Cobaltoan Calcite. Rather than being uniformly pink, the beads contain an incredible mixture of natural colours and mineral patterning.

You'll see vibrant pinks and mauves alongside dusty rose, purple, grey, green, cream and almost black areas. Some beads are softly mottled while others have striking contrasts and inclusions.

Because this is natural Cobaltoan Calcite, every bracelet has its own balance of colours and markings. That variation is very much part of what makes these special.
