This beautiful Celestite Geode from Madagascar is filled with soft blue crystals, from larger defined points to smaller sparkling crystals deeper within the cavity. Celestite is traditionally associated with peace, emotional calm and gentle spiritual connection, making it particularly supportive during periods of stress, overwhelm or when you need to create a quieter, more peaceful space around you.

Why I Chose This Crystal

The colour of this one is just beautiful. It has that gorgeous soft Celestite blue, but what I particularly love is the mixture of crystal sizes. There are some really lovely chunky points alongside smaller crystals that give the whole geode this wonderful sparkle and depth.

It's also a really substantial piece at well over a kilo and it freestands beautifully. The surrounding matrix has been cleaned back so you can properly see the structure of the geode, with even more of that lovely blue Celestite visible around the back.

I'm also incredibly proud of how our Madagascan crystals are sourced. We work with people we've known for years who have direct relationships with miners and workshops there, ensuring people are paid fairly for their work. Our supplier has been working in Madagascar for more than 30 years and the pieces are individually selected rather than simply bought unseen in bulk. It costs more to source crystals this way, but the quality and knowing the people behind them are being treated properly really matters to me.

How does Celestite form?

Celestite, also known as Celestine, is a naturally occurring mineral composed primarily of strontium sulphate. Madagascan Celestite is particularly well known for forming beautiful pale blue crystal-lined cavities and geodes within sedimentary rock.

Over immense periods of geological time, mineral-rich fluids allow Celestite crystals to develop within cavities in the surrounding matrix, with the crystals growing inwards into the available space. This creates the beautiful geode formations Madagascar has become so well known for.

The softer, loose sedimentary material around this particular specimen has been cleaned back, leaving the more stable matrix surrounding the crystal cavity. This allows the natural structure and condition of the piece to be seen more clearly while retaining the wonderful contrast between the rough outer matrix and blue crystals within.

Energetic Properties

This is an exceptional Madagascan Celestite geode with beautiful natural blue colouring and a wonderful variety of crystal formations.

The cavity contains some substantial, well-defined Celestite points alongside clusters of smaller crystals that create a sparkling druzy effect. This mixture of larger and smaller formations gives the piece incredible depth, with different crystals catching the light as you look further into the geode.

The surrounding sedimentary matrix has been cleaned back, revealing the more stable structure beneath and allowing the condition of the specimen to be properly assessed. You can also see further areas of beautiful blue Celestite coming through around the back of the piece.

At 1.37kg it has a lovely chunky presence and, importantly, it freestands, making it an impressive crystal to display without needing a separate stand.

How to Work With This Crystal

Place your Celestite somewhere you want to consciously create a sense of calm. Rather than feeling that you need to actively "do" something with it, allow it to become part of the environment around you and a visual reminder to soften, slow down and create a little more space.

For meditation, sit comfortably with the geode in front of you and allow your attention to rest on the different layers of crystals within the cavity. Follow the larger points into the smaller sparkling formations and use them as a gentle focus whenever your mind wanders.

You can also work with Celestite when communication feels difficult. Take a few moments beside your crystal before speaking or writing, giving yourself time to settle before deciding what you actually want to say.

Celestite is naturally quite a delicate mineral. Handle your geode carefully, avoid dropping or knocking it and do not immerse it in water. Small amounts of natural matrix or tiny crystal particles can occasionally loosen during handling, which is normal for this type of specimen.
