Why I Chose This Crystal

I really like Bloodstone because it feels like such a strong, steady crystal. It's one I would choose when life feels difficult and you need something that supports you to keep going rather than trying to take the difficulty away.

That works beautifully with the elephant for me. Elephants have this wonderful symbolism of strength, wisdom and resilience, so putting the two together creates a little crystal with a lot of meaning behind it.

I also love the natural appearance of these. They're predominantly deep earthy green with those little flecks and markings of red that make Bloodstone so distinctive and every elephant will be slightly different.

What is Bloodstone used for?

Bloodstone is a variety of chalcedony, traditionally recognised by its deep green colouring with contrasting red inclusions, historically likened to drops of blood.

It has been used symbolically for centuries and within modern crystal healing is particularly associated with courage, vitality, grounding and resilience. People are often drawn to Bloodstone during challenging periods when they want to feel stronger, more stable and better able to face what is in front of them.

Energetic Properties

These elephants have been polished to bring out the naturally deep green colouring of the Bloodstone, with small red markings appearing differently across each piece.

I particularly like that they're unmistakably Bloodstone. Those little flashes of red against the darker green give each carving its own character and mean no two elephants will ever look exactly the same.

Despite being only around 38mm long, there's lovely detail in the ears, trunk and body and they have a reassuringly solid feel for such small carvings.
